Why you came to American? Some people may ask, including the visa officer. My answer is "Go to college". But actually, there are many other things I'd like to do.
Get an US buddy. Though I have tried to get to know America as much as I can, I still have some culture shock sometimes. And
there're many times when the whole class is laughing for a joke told by the professor except me because of the lack of background information. So having an American friend will be a wonderful experience, I think. You can feel free to ask him about the things you don't understand and you have a good person to talk to when you're homesick. Of course, if there's something you can help him with that would be better. After all, friendship is mutual.
Travelling around. Going to another country is not something will easily happen. So why not take the chance to go around the country when you have time. Travelling helps you know the diversity of culture even within an country and it really helps you to get a more complete picture about the country and the people. As my university is located in a beautiful small town, the scenery is good but going to some big cities like New York will be an different experience.
Go to parties. There're a lot of parties all around even on campus.
There're delicious food and interesting games(some of the games are boring though, like APPLE TO APPLE). And more important, it's a good
opportunity to meet a lot of people and mingle. Certainly you'll find some people sharing the same interest with you and very likely you'll become friends.
In fact, in addition to the points I mentioned,
there're many other things waiting for you to explore to enjoy yourself.
