Bus Tickets to D.C.
Today I went to buy the bus tickets to D.C.. What a surprise! The tickets are written by hand and the driver will tear the paper off one by one as you go.

Mansfield Town
Today, on our way to Christy's home, I took some pictures of the town of Mansfield.
This is one church of the town
The 150 year celebration flag is still on the pole.
McDonald's in the town.
Shopping Guide(I don't know what it is)
All in all, Mansfield is really a peaceful and gorgeous place.

I Got 9
When I got my IELTS score I was a little excited. I got a 7.5 for my IELTS.8 for listening,9 for reading. However, not good enough in writing(6.5) and speaking(6).
Actually, Mansfield didn't require my TOFEL or IELTS before coming. But a Chinese professor here suggested that I take the test before coming here--at least have some short-term training.
And then I went to the training course, which makes me quite stressed. At first, it's even a little overwhelming but I tried to follow the pace. As time goes by, it's becoming better and better but I'm still worried because I would take the test only ten days after training, which means that I don't enough time to digest what I had learnt.
So I went to Shanghai and took my test. Unluckily, I had had a diarrhea and made me really upset. Thank God I was a little better before the test.
I got my test score and my learning experience was posted on the website of the training school (http://www.szielts.com.cn/view.asp?keyno=307) and a photo of my mom holding a silk banner was also posted on the homepage though the banner was not given by my mom, I think:)
I will still quite happy when I think about it but also feel the pressure because I haven't done good enough on the writing and speaking part. I will work harder and be more successful.

Get Prepared
What is the biggest culture shock I have experienced till now?I will tell you and that's something you need to get prepared for.
I have taken the culture class in China so that I can have less culture shock. However, I still have some
First is the weather.I am in a mountainous area. Yes, the scenery here is gorgeous. The air is clean and tidy. But it is really dry here. I'm always very thirsty even I drank tons of water every day. No, I'm just kidding.^_^But it's true that I bought skin lotion to make my skin moisture.
Second is the teaching style.I just have 4 courses this semester, much fewer compared to that in China but I'm still busy--even busier. The reason is that though the teacher will do lectures, we're expected to do a lot of reading first before going to class. In a word, we need to depend more on ourselves and learn out of class.
The third is the "hair thing". The hair-cut here is expensive. So either leave your hair long or do it yourself. You can also ask your friend to help you.
I don't worry about the food or something because I find them delicious and various.

Have Fun besides Study
Why you came to American? Some people may ask, including the visa officer. My answer is "Go to college". But actually, there are many other things I'd like to do.
Get an US buddy. Though I have tried to get to know America as much as I can, I still have some culture shock sometimes. And there're many times when the whole class is laughing for a joke told by the professor except me because of the lack of background information. So having an American friend will be a wonderful experience, I think. You can feel free to ask him about the things you don't understand and you have a good person to talk to when you're homesick. Of course, if there's something you can help him with that would be better. After all, friendship is mutual.
Travelling around. Going to another country is not something will easily happen. So why not take the chance to go around the country when you have time. Travelling helps you know the diversity of culture even within an country and it really helps you to get a more complete picture about the country and the people. As my university is located in a beautiful small town, the scenery is good but going to some big cities like New York will be an different experience.
Go to parties. There're a lot of parties all around even on campus. There're delicious food and interesting games(some of the games are boring though, like APPLE TO APPLE). And more important, it's a good opportunity to meet a lot of people and mingle. Certainly you'll find some people sharing the same interest with you and very likely you'll become friends.
In fact, in addition to the points I mentioned, there're many other things waiting for you to explore to enjoy yourself.
